Our Favorite Bike Routes On Maryland’s Eastern Shore
Maryland’s Eastern Shore is a favorite spot to ride for casual riders, seasoned road cyclists and triathletes alike. The gorgeous “rural meets beachy” scenery is sought after for a variety of reasons. Less traffic than the Western Shore is a big hit with road cyclists. The Cross Island Trail on Kent Island offers about 9 miles of paved riding that attracts kids, families, cyclists and everything in between since it is a safe, lower traffic option for riding.
If you are a road cyclist, riding out to Love Point and back down to Romancoke Pier at the south point of Kent Island is a favorite route among locals. There is a wide shoulder once you are south of the Rt 50 intersection, and the northern part of the ride is scenic as you pass farms, homes and have great views of the Bay.
